Blogging on My Heart

March 14, 2023, is the day that I began to get clarity about so many things. After being sick for five days with nausea and vomiting for no apparent reason, I was beyond tired and more than confused about why my body was turning on me. Little did I know then that it was only the beginning of a journey that would ultimately land me in a mental facility. I still chuckle out loud when I think about the fact that I was put on a 51/50 hold because I’ve always considered myself pretty sane. Here’s the thing folks, nobody who has lived a life remotely close to mine is always lucid. As a child of addicts, I saw and heard a lot growing up. I was molested, raped, moved from place to place, and so much more before age 18. Even though I survived and came out on the other side OK, my journey has been far from easy.

I’ve had blogging in my heart for a long time. When I set out to create this blog, I found that I had already started a page and picked a name back in 2011. I’ve been asked countless times, “How did you turn out this way with all you’ve been through?”. I’ve just recently learned how to answer the question. God is how I managed to land “good jobs”, God is how, and why I have been married for 20 years to a man I genuinely love; God is how and why my children are happy and healthy. My life has not been easy by any means, but, I believe in “you live, and you learn”, and this will be a space where I share what I’ve lived through and learned as well as what I’m living through and learning. I desire to shed a big bright light on those dark places we all have in our hearts and minds.

Stay tuned for more of what God has put on my heart…

“So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates,  so that as long as the sky remains above the earth, you and your children may flourish in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors” Deuteronomy 11:18-21

Yes Jack, but through it all. Trusting in Jesus has gotten you this far. You’re blessed in spite of….
Doesn’t make it hurt less but hopefully God can help you come to an understanding and acceptance of your life. Seems like we could have thought of a better way, but God’s there and he never fails. I thought He did and blamed Him for a long time. He explained my journey. Keep the your faith God will explain your path. Love you baby and so proud of you and your family. ❤️❤️❤️
